Money Matters

Door Fees

Local and regional expenses are paid for using event door fees. Happy Hour door fees worldwide are as follows:

  • General Admission: US$10.- (or local currency equivalent)
  • Standard Members w/RSVP: US$5.- (or local currency equivalent)
  • Premium Members w/RSVP: Free
In new locations where we don't yet have a Happy Hour presence, all members enjoy free entry with advanced RSVP.

Use of Funds

Teams are responsible for managing their budgets carefully and using door fee revenues to cover the following:

  1. Monthly Corporate Fee

This is a flat-rate fee used tp cover global overhead costs (not applicable to new teams).

  2. Monthly Webmaster Fee

This is paid directly to the Webmaster for his/her webmaster support provided to each local team.

  3. Promotional Materials

Click here for a list of required materials.

  4. Other Local Expenses

Items #1-3 must be paid in full before other local expenses can be covered. Local expenses vary per location but should be kept to a minimum. We are merely running casual, after-work happy hours. There shouldn't be excessive expenses incurred (markers, cashbox, scissors...).

Slush Funds

At the end of each year, teams that attracted steady crowds to their events will have leftover funds ("Slush Funds").

Some teams use slush funds for end-of-year team dinners/activities. Others donate the moneys to a local charity of their choice, and still others distribute the funds amongst the team.

Use of Slush Funds is at each teams' discretion.
