Note about spam:
All individual and team accounts are for internal use only, to make it easier for organizers to communicate with each other. It is best not to post them publicly online or use them for any other purpose, because once they are in the hands of spammers, there is nothing we can do to prevent spam abuse.

  • Individual "Forwarding" Email

    Event Organizers are assigned ORIENTED forwarding email addresses.

    Any in-bound emails sent to the ORIENTED forwarding email address will be automatically forwarded to the organizer's personal email address. To SEND an out-bound message, one would simply use his/her own personal email address.

    In previous years, Individual "User" Accounts (see below) were assigned to all organizers, but what we learned was that most people don't want yet another email account to have to check. They didn't check it frequently, it's a pain to manage, and it resulted in miscommunication and confusion within the teams. Since then, User Accounts have only been assigned to Head Organizers that request them.

  • Individual "User" Account

    Head Organizers that request to have full user accounts may send and receive emails using Outlook or Outlook Express, or by using the ORIENTED webmail.

    A temporary password will be assigned to new Head Organizers which can be changed at any time by logging into the webmail and selecting "Settings".

    • Outlook configurations

      POP3: mail.oriented.com (incoming mail)
      SMTP: mail.oriented.com (outgoing mail)

      In the "advanced options", check "My Outgoing Server requires Authentication"

    A copy of incoming ORIENTED mail will also be sent to the Head Organizer's generic email (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) for additional notification, unless otherwise requested.

  • Team Forwarding Accounts

    Each team is assigned a team forwarding ("alias") account for internal use only. Emails sent to that account will be forwarded to all of the Organizers on the team for optimal internal communications.
