Vacancy Announcement - Community Events Promoter
We currently seek a part-time Community Events Promoter to help professional and community organizations to raise visibility of their efforts and upcoming activities.
The headaches you would be solving:
- Help non-profit groups with limited marketing budgets to raise visibility of their upcoming events and activities
- Help ORIENTED's frequently-traveling audience to stay abreast of upcoming events happening in their destination cities
- Help create a meaningful information clearinghouse for Asian-related and Asia-related events worldwide
Responsibilities
- Identify the most active professional and community groups in the U.S. and in Asia
- Keep abreast of upcoming events and help to raise awareness of them via ORIENTED's promotional services
- Monitor the events that are posted on the ORIENTED Calendar, for quality purposes
Qualifications- Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision
- Must be very sharp, work fast, and have a good command of the English language
- Must be extremely reliable and able to meet deadlines
Ideally, this person will have experience volunteering with non-profit groups, understands their needs and have a sincere interest in helping them to succeed. Professional maturity, excellent communication skills, high-quality work, and attention to detail cannot be overemphasized.

- Compensation can be lucrative over time and is tied directly to the number and the frequency of events posted
- As organizations become more familiar with our event promotion services, the less work is involved (except to monitor the site for quality control purposes)
- Work from home (or your office!), can set your own hours
Other Requirements
We are looking for someone who can commit long-term, has a lot of free time Mon-Fri to surf the net, and has regular and predictable hours. Full-time students, people in-between jobs, and those who travel frequently are discouraged from applying.
