Kevin Chen
Former Organizer, Dialogue & Exchange (Shanghai)

Kevin grew up near Washington DC, where he realized that there was a big world to explore. He decided to travel the great distance to Georgetown University, where he studied at the School of Foreign Service. There he discovered his passion for foreign cultures and languages. He studied abroad at the London School of Economics.

Kevin traveled to China for the first time in 1997. Instead of working there during the boom years, he thought he would come back to China when it was more developed and less forgiving of foreigners with questionable Mandarin. He joined an asset management firm in London, and then switched to a position in New York with an investment bank. He finally got the opportunity to come back to Asia, by transferring to Tokyo.

Life was comfortable in Tokyo, but the city wasn't large enough for him. Thus in 2004, Kevin decided to come to Shanghai and relearn his forgotten Mandarin at the infamous Jiaotong University.

Kevin is now working for Dover Corporation.
