Michael Wallis Co-Head Organizer, Portland
A Florida native, Michael graduated from the University of Central Florida with degrees in Computer Engineering and Physics. One of the attractions of moving to Portland was the high number of volunteer hours Portlanders donate to their community. His volunteer work includes projects for Nature Conservancy, the ANAI leatherback turtle project in Costa Rica, zoos in Florida and Oregon, SOLV, AAYLC, and Friends of Portland Chinatown. Michael has met many friends through ORIENTED and is excited to be carrying it on. Michael works as a senior level IT administrator for a German medical company and enjoys witnessing the German work ethic and amazing drinking abilities. He has worked in the information technology field for over 14 years and enjoys solving the variety of issues seen daily. The love of travel takes Michael to new countries to experience their cultures and eat their foods. He has visited many countries in Asia and annually returns to Taiwan to visit family and friends. He can converse in Mandarin and some Spanish. In his free time Michael enjoys salsa dancing, rock climbing, cheese making, and playing bagpipes. Joined: November 2011
