Peter Wang
Former Organizer, Shanghai

After spending his first 17 years drenched in Seattle, Peter found drier habit in hippie haven Northern California and attended UC Berkeley. Love, peace and all that good stuff were merely an afterthought as he trudged his way through a civil engineering degree. Not wanting to build bridges or disinfect sewage for the rest of his life, Peter went off to Taipei in 1994 to find all the adventure that the American Dream could not offer.

Since then, Peter has done the entire Greater China tour. After a brief stint in finance in Taiwan, Peter moved to Hong Kong where he did marketing for a trading company. Following that, he moved to Beijing where he continued with his Mandarin studies.

Longing for the United States, Peter eventually moved to Los Angeles for three years. In LA, he owned and operated a graphic design company specializing in movie poster design. Finding life in the States a bit too unchallenging and slow, Peter packed his bags again and in February of 2002 moved to Shanghai.
