Ravi Satkalmi
Former Organizer, Washington, D.C.

Ravi, a native New Yorker, is currently completing his Masters in Interna-
tional Relations at Johns Hopkins University's Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Specifically, he is concentrating in South Asia Studies as well as International Law. He received a BS in Business Management from St. John's University, New York in 2000.

Following graduation from undergrad and not quite ready to hit the workforce, Ravi spent five months volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in the American South, spending most of that time in New Orleans. After returning to New York, he worked on a local campaign in Queens. That ended on Election Day with an unfavorable electoral phenomenon. Finally realizing that he wasn't making any money, Ravi took a full time job with BearingPoint, where he worked until June 2003 when he left to attend graduate school.

It was at SAIS that Ravi became acquainted with Thomas Wong and Suzanne Yueh, the defining moment of his grad school career. Sharing their first year of grad school as well as a general interest in Greater Asia, Ravi decided to assist in coordinating the Washington, D.C. activities of ORIENTED. Additionally, having traveled to India on numerous occasions, Ravi now seeks to expand his exposure East and Southeast Asia by pursuing oppor-
tunities for work and research in the region.
