Sophia Bai
Former Organizer, Shanghai

Originally from the ancient capital of Xi'an, Sophia grew up in the old Muslim Quarter subsisting on hearty breads and lamb sticks. A free and adventurous soul, Sophia moved out of home and into the foreign students' dormitory at Northwest University at the age of sixteen. As a high school student she was a star athlete and led her track team to many victories. Today she continues to participate and watch sporting events.

With a strong interest in Western society, Sophia chose to forgo the state-sponsored education and majored in business administration at the Thames University education system, where all her classes were conducted in English. After one year of college in Xi'an, Sophia's curiosity got the best of her. She moved to Shanghai to continue her studies in China's most developed and westernized city.

Now going on her fourth year in Shanghai, Sophia has adapted well to her adopted home. Like many young, professional women, Sophia enjoys whittling time away with her girlfriends at Starbucks and Element Fresh. Although she is a fun-loving girl, Sophia is also very ambitious. She plans to get her MBA in the near future.

Sophia currently works at Systems Union (Shanghai) Ltd at the Support Center. Sophia's early exposure to Western culture and education, combined with her work and overseas experiences make her an excellent mix of East and West.
