Stella Sun
Former Organizer, Beijing

Stella Sun was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where she grew up playing football with the boys in the neighbor-
hood and trying to avoid the flying bullets from the "favela" nearby. Aside from Brazil, Stella has also lived in L.A., South Africa, Johannesburg, Zurich, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Japan, Taipei and Korea.

Stella's very first job was as a flight attendant for VARIG where she got to a) learn how to scare children from running down the aisles, b) get through the emergency door without getting herself stuck, c) meet George Michael, and d) service VARIG's very first direct flight to Beijing, even though that route was later dis-
continued (oh well).

After three years of traveling the world, Stella applied for a scholarship at National Chengchi University in Taipei where she studied Economics. She also served as PR of the Overseas Students Association and was a Counselor on the Chien Tan Loveboat Tour as well. Though she never could have imagined how hard it could be to keep kids out of trouble -- every bed check would end up with a different head count -- she much enjoyed herself, the stu-
dents, and the program.

Realizing a little late that she had an underdeveloped left-sided brain and that Economics required much more of Mathematics than she could ever appreciate, Stella took the National Examination and entered the Foreign Langu-
ages Department at Shih Chien University (read, English...) while working as a Coordinator Officer at the Brazilian Business Support Center.

Prior to graduation, Stella took a part-time sales position with Well Communication, eventually working there full-time doing strategic business development. Later, she worked for Firm-Years International as an Account Mana-
ger and then in International Sales & Marketing before helping the company set up their branch office in Beijing.

Currently, Stella is studying French at the Alliance Française in Beijing and also helps her "adorable hubby" to test his company's online gaming products. After email-
ing the Founders of ORIENTED about other events in the area, she now finds herself as one of our Happy Hour org-
anizers on the Beijing team there. How funny!
