Wayne Chang
Former Organizer, San Francisco Bay Area

Wayne spent the past nine years working all over Asia. Without a doubt, this man is "oriented".

With Booz Allen & Hamilton, Monsanto Biotechnology, and Asia Transcommunications Ltd. (Q-East) which he co-founded, he has been stationed in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore, Sydney, Delhi, Mumbai... etcetera. Just about the only place he has not yet visited is Papa New Guinea, though he has every intention to lead a trip out there to soak up the culture from the very last tribe of cannibals on this planet earth...

Wayne has very distinct memories of Bangkok... one place he most likely will not visit again. While working there, he was treated to the "best street cuisine Thailand has to offer" by the then Governor of Thailand, which subsequently lead to a severe case of typhoid fever. Thanks to modern medicine, Wayne was lucky not to become another medical statistic. "I still think Thailand is a very wonderful place to visit, but maybe not for me, at least not in the near future..."

Wayne has finally returned to his home state, California, and is currently with Velaglobal Venture Partners in Palo Alto. He spends most of his time working with biotechnologists, scientists, and life science engineers regarding venture investments, commercializing biotechnology products, and building companies. His next stop is Hawaii where he eventually plans to retire.

Wayne has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He also holds Science and Engineering Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engi-
neering from the University of California at Berkeley.
