Yvonne Huang
Head Organizer, Sydney

Yvonne was born in Taiwan and lived in Taipei until she was 17 years old when her family immgrated to a beautiful little town in New Zealand called Tauranga, where she attended high school for two years before applying to Auckland University. Three years of living away from home taught her how to be a good team player while being active in both academic and sports activities throughout her university years.

After graduating from Auckland University, Yvonne moved back to Taipei and worked for HSBC for two years to experience the city life and to learn more about the Chinese culture, which is her great interest. In 2002, she decided to study abroad again, packed her bags, and visited some of the most famous cities in the world, including Sydney, Australia. In Sydney, she met many people from very diverse backgrounds, really enjoyed herself there, and decided to call Australia "home".

Being the oldest of three siblings, Yvonne has always been independent and has a positive and aggressive attitude toward every task. She contributed this ability in HSBC to hold the first club badminton team. Living overseas is not an easy task, especially for those arriving to a new country without an established circle of friends, so she is always keen on lending a helping hand to whomever is in need. This was the reason why Yvonne was motivated to get involved with the International Student Committee in O’Rorke Hall hostel back in school, and it is the same reason why she is now involved with ORIENTED Sydney!

Active and outgoing, Yvonne is always on the go and loves to make new friends. Her favourite sports include badminton, mountain climbing, bushwalking, kayaking, indoor rock climbing, and swimming. She loves music, plays guitar, and is now learning how to play flute. She currently works in the Treasury Department at Mizuho Corporate Bank as a dealer in Interest Rate Products, where she found her ambition in the financial market.
